Life with Nolan!

BROTHERS
Nolan's first sponge bath at home! He did great!

Papaw Maggard came to visit all the way from Florida! Here we are posing with our favorite treat, tic tacs!
Our Papaw, Everett Donald...This is the grandpa that Nolan is named after. He named my mommy when she was born and so Mommy and Daddy thought it would be cool to use Grandpa's name for Nolan!

I'm a BIG BROTHER!!!

My little brother, Nolan Everett Cole was born on Wednesday June 16th at 7:09 am. He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 1/4 inches long. (Mom wants to apologize for the late post...she has obviously been BUSY with 2 kids! If she isn't nursing or changing diapers, she is playing cars or watching movies with me!)
Mom had her last doctors appointment on Tuesday June 15th where her doctor suggested that an induction would be the best bet since Nolan was doing well and mommy delivered me so quickly! Mommy thought that was a WONDERFUL idea, and so the induction date was set for Thursday June 17th (39 weeks).
Mommy woke up on Wednesday morning at 2:00 with contractions and timed them for about 20 minutes. They were VERY close together and lasting 45 seconds to 1 minute. She woke Daddy up and told him it was time. The doctor was paged and called Mommy back and decided it was time for them to get to the hospital right away! Auntie BT (Brittany) came over to stay at the house with me, and mom and dad were off to the hospital. They arrived about 3:15 am and immediately went to triage where mommy was given her IV. At this point contractions were about 5 minutes apart and VERY painful. We were then checked into our room and mommy "patiently" awaited an epidural. (this was about 4:00 am)
The anesthesiologist FINALLY got to mommy at about 6:30 and Nolan was here at 7:09 am!!!

ALMOST time!

We have been taking several walks each day for the past few days trying to get things going to mommy and the baby. Our neighborhood park has a nice little trail that leads us to a bridge over Mud Creek.
We HAVE to make a stop at the bridge so I can throw rocks!

Mommy went to the doctor this morning (6/15/10) and was dialated at 3 cm.! The doc. said at this rate, the baby could come anytime and that he would recommend that she be induced if she felt it was time. Of course mommy is READY, and was thrilled with this option! At first, she was a little sad knowing that the pregnancy is ALMOST over, but knowing that we are finally going to be able to meet, hold and kiss our new addition, she was happy and agreed it was time.
Since I came so fast for mommy's first delivery, the doctor thought it would be best that mommy come to the hospital to get checked in and start the pitocin, instead of waiting at
home until contractions start and then missing on the chance for an epidural. (which is FIRST PRIORITY! ha!) Mommy and Daddy will go in on Thursday morning and hopefully the baby will be here by Thursday afternoon. We are feeling very excited to meet this little guy and I am SOOOO happy to officially become a
BIG BROTHER!
Please pray for a safe and easy delivery! :)
We will post pictures of our new addition ASAP!

Welcome, Kinley Mae Briscoe!!!

Well, she is FINALLY here! Kinley Mae Briscoe has made her way into the world! Kinley was born on Thursday June 3rd weighing in at 8lbs. 13 oz. and was 22 inches long!
We are wondering how this big girl fit into her tiny mommy! :)
She is absolutely PERFECT and healthy, Aunt Jamie is feeling good, Uncle Chad is thrilled to have two amazing girls, and Kate is a wonderful BIG SISTER!
Here are all of the grandkids (minus Baby Cole who will HOPEFULLY be joining us SOON) with our very PROUD Grandma and Grandpa Cole!
Mommy and Daddy were SO happy to meet their new niece! They almost forgot what it's like to have a little baby around...not for long though, huh!?!

Kate and I were more happy to see each other! We LOVE baby Kinley, but us "BIGS" (big brother/big sister) have to stick together! :)
We are so happy for Aunt Jamie, Uncle Chad, and Kate on the newest member of their family! What a blessing she is to our family!
Welcome to the world, Kinley Mae! We love you!!!!

Day at the Track!

Grandpa Cole, Daddy, Mommy and I went to the race track for Pole Day! Although the last time I went to the track I was only 7 months old, I had a BLAST!!!!

Grandpa shared his binoculars so I could get a good look down the stretch!

I had a great time!

We had perfect weather!

Grandpa brought me these really cool earplugs! I looked like SHREK with them in my ears!

"Daddy, I want to see Tony!"
(He was talking about Tony Kanaan, who is one of our favorite drivers who happened to wreck!)
Mommy and Baby Update: Mommy is now going to visit her doctor once a week-which seems incredible that it's moving along this FAST! Things are looking and sounding great, but the doctor said mommy's belly is measuring a little bit big...needless to say, she hope this means an early delivery (as long as the baby is healthy and ready!!!)
I am getting very excited to have a baby brother! I have been asking mommy and daddy a lot of questions about the baby and I am really excited to pass along my crib, glider and many other things...I don't need them anymore because I am such a BIG boy!
Daddy painted the nursery and it looks GREAT! Now all we need is the baby! :)

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Mommy came in to check on me Saturday evening before she went to bed...and this is how she found me! She was sad when she saw me like this because she didn't know if I had fallen asleep like this hours ago or if I fell out of bed or what happened! She ran out to get Daddy and the camera! It was pretty funny and mom and dad got a great laugh! This picture will be shown for years to come! :)
We would like to wish all of the Mothers in our lives a very HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! Our lives are truly blessed because of YOU and we love each and everyone of you for being our mothers, grandmothers, great gradmothers, aunts, cousins, and friends!

Daddy and I took mommy to her favorite restaurant for Mothers Day Lunch! PF Changs!!! YUMMMM! Grandma and Grandpa Cole joined us for a great time!

I love to finger paint!

Mommy and baby update: Mommy had some issues with elevated blood sugar levels and had to go to the hospital to get some blood work done. She was there for 4 hours for a glucose screen and had her blood drawn every hour for 4 draws. We had a bit of trouble getting the results back, but after 3 weeks of waiting, we found out that the tests came back regular and there is no sign of Gestational Diabetes! PRAISE GOD!!!

We are officially 34 weeks this week which means in 6 (OR LESS!!) short weeks, our new addition will be here! Mom has felt good except for getting comfortable to sleep, shortness of breath and HEARTBURN! She is trying to enjoy everything, although she is just ready at this point! We cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone and are thankful for good health!!!!

PLEASE pray for the family of 1st Lt. Brandon Barrett who was killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday May 5th, 2010. He was a great friend, a true HERO and will be greatly missed by all of us that were blessed to know him!
